GREEN VALLEY METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY
GRAPEFIELD, BLAND COUNTY,VA.

The Green Valley Methodist Church Cemetery is located on state route # 614, in the Grapefield Community of Bland County, Virginia.   To get to the cemetery, take I-77 north from Wytheville, Virginia, to the Bastian exit.   Get off the exit and take a left and go to the stop sign which is US # 52.  Turn left and go about one tenth of a mile, and turn right onto state route # 614.  Drive approximately 3.5 miles, and the church and cemetery is on your left.

The church was originally called "Hedrick's Church."   I do not know when the church and cemetery was started, or when the name was changed - perhaps when the church was rebuilt.  There are quite a few graves with no stones, and a few with only a concrete block with the word, "UNKNOWN" written on the block.

The cemetery dates back to at least 1863.
